Lisa Lalande is the Executive Lead for Mowat NFP within The Mowat Centre. Lisa brings almost 20 years experience in the not-for-profit (NFP) and for profit sectors and several award-winning innovations to her roles. Most recently, she was Chief Development Officer at Lift Philanthropy Partners, a venture philanthropy organization focused on helping organizations in the social sector increase their accountability, establish performance metrics, and improve their overall capacity to deliver social impact. Prior to that, Lisa spent almost a decade with Habitat for Humanity in senior management roles, including vice president of national partnerships and giving programs for Habitat for Humanity Canada. There, she led a cross-functional team in expanding the association’s domestic and international homebuilding activities, diversifying funding models and partnerships, establishing impact measurement approaches, and strengthening the Canadian association’s infrastructure.
Lisa spent the first half of her career in financial services working in change management, mergers & acquisitions, and supporting communications and human resource planning initiatives. Lisa originally pursued a career as a professional musician studying at that the prestigious Glenn Gould Professional School of Music, but transitioned to the finance and NFP sectors to expand her knowledge base and make a difference in the world. She also holds post-graduate certificates from Rotman and Schulich.
